Website users, clients and prospective clients

  • payment account details (for regular direct debits, Aus Advantage IT will not store any credit card information; all payments are processed by third-party merchant services providers);

Prospective employees or applicants

For clients
The purposes for which we may use and disclose your personal information depend on the services we are providing. For example, if you have engaged us to deliver a service, we will only use your client database information to contact those clients where relevant to services provided to you and with your express permission.

Disclosure to contractors and other service providers
We may disclose information to third parties we engage to provide our services, including contractors and service providers used for data processing, payment systems, data analysis, client satisfaction surveys, information technology services and support, website maintenance/development, archiving, mail-outs and market research. Does Aus Advantage IT disclose your personal information overseas?

While we are an Australian organisation, we work with clients, service providers, sponsors and commercial interests that may be based overseas. Your personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients in limited circumstances (e.g., when held on third-party cloud storage service providers based overseas).

Unless we have your consent, or an Australian Privacy Principles exception applies, we will only disclose your personal information to overseas recipients where we have taken reasonable steps to ensure the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to your personal information. We will not disclose an individual’s personal information to any entity outside Australia that is in a jurisdiction without a similar regime to the Australian Privacy Principles or an implemented and enforceable privacy policy similar to this Privacy Policy, and we will take reasonable steps to ensure any such entity has agreed to safeguard personal information as we do.

You will not be charged for making an access request, but you may be charged for the reasonable time and expense incurred in compiling the information.

If your complaint requires more detailed consideration or investigation, we will acknowledge receipt within a week and endeavour to complete our investigation promptly. We may ask you for further information and the outcome you seek, then gather relevant facts, locate and review documents and speak with involved individuals. In most cases, we will investigate and try to resolve a complaint within 30 days of receipt; if the matter is more complex or our investigation may take longer, we will let you know.

If you are not satisfied with our response, or you consider that we may have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or the Privacy Act, a complaint may be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
